Some post-sailing, pre-July 4th tide-pooling.
The Aresty's had us over on the 4th to cookout, which was so much fun....until Audrey cut her finger trying to pull on a light switch. So instead of watching fireworks, Audrey watched her own (EIGHT!) stitches getting put in. This girl has no trouble with blood, a great trait in a future veterinarian. And the silver lining was that we saw some of the Boston Esplanade fireworks as we were driving home over the Tobin Bridge.
Maddy did not actually have a four-day weekend, her sailing program resumed on Friday, but she didn't mind as they had one of their two (junk-food-laden) island trips. This week's trip was to Spectacle Island.

Maddy's boat landing back at the pier, after their day-long trip.
We hung out with the Smith-Felners at Piers Park as the big kids were sailing in which led to dinner in Winthrop, which led to ice cream, which let to a walk to the tide pool...
It was such a nice evening, no one really wanted it to end.
On the last day of our long weekend we took Grandpa on a bike ride on the East Boston Greenway.
We ended up in Piers Park (which is where we seem to spend all our time lately!)
We also walked around the area around Piers Park, including the new ICA Watershed gallery.
The graffiti in the area was very cool as well!
And as a completely unexpected bonus, we wandered into a Hard Cider Brewery that was giving out free samples.
It was a great way to end a really nice weekend!
