Sailing Week Two

Maddy's second week of sailing had equally great weather.

And on Monday night after sailing, the kids had a softball game. Sadly, Audrey was on the "disabled list" due to her cut finger, but she did a great job coaching third base. Maddy really enjoyed being coached by her little sister. *eye roll*

Even though the Wildcats were missing a lot of girls, they pulled together and won a very close game!

Derigging the boat.

Playing with Maddy's new "Howler" rocket on a non-softball night!

On Thursday it was time to get the stitches out...yay! But HOLY COW it was not as easy as the ER doctor said it would be. Ouch!

Back at Piers Park, waiting for the big kids to come back from their island trip, Audrey and Kai rocking all sorts of color. (I thought they looked like extras from this season of Stranger Things....)

This year's island trip was to Peddocks Island. The island trips are definitely Maddy's favorite sailing days of the year. And I don't think that's ENTIRELY due to all the junk food they eat.

On Maddy's last day of sailing I'd promised Audrey an outing so we went to the Aquarium. It was really nice to spend the day together, going at her pace.

We could have watched the jellyfish for hours.

We looked all over for Mrytle and became concerned when we found her napping at the bottom of the tank, but one of the Aquarium volunteers assured us that she just naps a lot. She is probably at least ninety years old. so I guess that's to be expected!

We got back to Piers Park in time to watch Maddy's boat race in before a storm rolled in.

So sad that sailing is over for the year! It really is a highlight of Maddy's summer!
