Our next stop was to Wilmington, North Carolina to visit with Carl, Brooke and Ellie.
The kids only see each other once a year or so but they always start right back off where they left off. We had a little time before dinner so we took a walk to the park nearby. We were shocked when we saw a real live alligator lying in the water but that didn't stop us from enjoying the park.
The three of them fit well on the tire swing together...
…then Carl gave them the tornado treatment. They couldn't get enough of it!
For dinner we got every one's favorite (and our North Carolina usual!), Mellow Mushroom.
After some frozen yogurt, it was time to hit the hay for some "sleep". There was just as much craziness as usual with these yahoos! I guess getting zero sleep is fine for one night a year.
Anyhow, everyone had enough energy in the morning to serenade us all with songs from the movie Frozen.
By far, the highlight of the visit was getting to know the newest member of Ellie's family, Steven Paws. He's such a sweet dog and everyone was smitten with him (especially Audrey, who still wants a puppy more than anything!)
It was a short visit, but a very happy one!
Next stop: Hilton Head, South Carolina!
