Maddy's Rough Week

On Memorial Day, it was clear that Maddy wasn't feeling very healthy. She ended up missing the next three days of school with a mystery illness whose main symptom was a fever, and low energy.

Luckily, Audrey didn't catch it (knock on wood!) and had the energy to keep up our spirits by making us all play a game that she's been practicing for weeks and is really really good at. (She's a real humanitarian.)



She also drew this picture of herself and Maddy that I feel perfectly illustrates the week we had:

Finally, like a switch the mystery illness went away, Maddy snapped by to her usual energetic self and went back to school on Friday. After school we decided to meet some friends at the park at which point Maddy jumped out the car, fell and fractured her elbow. Nothing says "fun" like a Friday night in the Emergency Room!



Since it's the "good" arm that's casted, Maddy's not thrilled that she's going to need so much extra help over the next four to six weeks. But knowing her, she'll adjust in no time.



And a little ice cream couldn't hurt either!
