Regattas

Since Audrey isn't a compete newbie this year she (with some nudging...) decided to race a couple regattas with her friend Claire. 

The first one was the N10 Open which was being held on a lake in Medford. I was a little nervous, because getting a boat to Medford seemed very daunting...but luckily Claire's family handled all that and I was so glad they went. The Medford Yacht Club had beautiful facilities and it was a really fun place to spend a couple days, especially during a heat wave!

Even having only ever sailed HALF of a regatta before, these girls did not lack for confidence!

 

After two days of sailing (and a fair amount of swimming and water sliding too!), they won 1st place in the Silver Fleet! So proud of them!

Regatta number two, N10 Migets,  was back at our home yacht club. Again, here they starting the day very confident!

This regatta gave out trophies for the top five finishers and didn't divide out the beginners from the more experienced sailors, so their eighth place finish didn't win a trophy, but they did amazingly well!

And they topped off the day with some other boating! It was a fun, but exhasuting couple days!
