Russell Pond 2020

We had awesome weather for our annual camping weekend with the Smith-Felhners.

As we all know, the most important part of camping is the planning. I loved it when I spied Audrey's packing list, and that the list included a fox (Ovi, short for Olive) and a monkey.

Did she remember to bring her monkey? A girl never tells....

Campsite E5, our home away from home. We got a little wild this year and picked a DIFFERENT site, one closer to the pond and closer to the bathoom. It was kind of awesome!

On Satuday, we had the brilliant idea to cook our supper for lunch and then get pizza for dinner (to make it easier to clean up in the waning daylight.) That decision was defintely one for the genius file!

Andy had actually been on a SIX day, pre-camping trip which he presented to us. I'm getting the sense that we are amateurs in Andy's world!

The pond was a little busier than normal this year. (COVID IS RUINING EVERYTHING GOOD!)

Walden THOUGHT he wanted into the kayak....until he actually got into the kayak!

Somehow Maddy bamboozled Amaia into pulling her around the lake.

Audrey makes friends, wherever she goes.

The greatest tragedy of the weekend... the chocolate bars got misplaced in the back of the car, so no S'mores on Saturday night.

Sunday morning whittling.

And a little more kayaking. At one point the kids had all the kayaks out and were on the opposite side of the lake and then we heard screaming, but we couldn't do anything since THE KIDS HAD ALL THE KAYAKS. (Bad parental planning). Luckily they were just "making echoes". Whew!

It was a wonderful weekend and a very welcome bit of normal is this completely abnormal year.
