Labor Day Weekend

We had an awesomely low-key Labor Day weekend. Not too much to do, but just enough. Bob and Maddy did some building projects around the house, but priority number one was to get Maddy's bike running properly so she could keep the momentum going from bike camp. Bob literally spent half of his weekend adapting Maddy's bike. It needed a hand brake for her left hand and some bigger training wheels. Neither of which was easy. Especially the wheels, which Bob modified from lawnmower wheels. But after enough explicatives and elbow grease they got the job done!

After the bike was finished, we rewarded ourselves with a round of mini-golf at the place I'd been with the kids the weekend before. Bob would kill me if I didn't mention that he actually shot for par. Maddy also did really well. And Audrey didn't injure anyone with her club.

It was really hot, so our ice cream afterwards tasted extra good!

Maddy climbed back into the pirate ship and showed off her pirate face.

And her regular smile.

Audrey loved feeding the koi.

On Sunday, aside from catching eveyone's favorite eighties movie (Ghostbusters) on the big screen we also had a lunch at the Finleys to say farewell to old 187 Harvard Street.

I can't believe it's been 16 years since I moved into that apartment with no job, no friends and just a tiny little Hyundai full of stuff!

Happy Labor Day weekend!
