Quiet Week

It's been a strangely quiet week. First the MLK Holiday, then one regular day, then a snow day and then Maddy's been home sick the rest of the week with an ear infection plus whatever virus it was that knocked Audrey out last week. So, homebody that I am, even I'm getting a little cabin fever! Still, it's been a nice week.

On the snow day, Maddy and I decided to test out my new Christmas present, my beautiful stand mixer. And the obvious thing to make was some pizza that we could eat for lunch. Dough was amazingly easy to make. Just throw all the stuff in, put on the dough hook and let her rip.

We were a little short on official pizza fixings but we managed. I did have some tomato sauce.

And a bunch of string cheese I could slice up. It turned out pretty good, I must say. Especially the pizza crust.

And today, Maddy is still pretty low energy, but we did take a break from the TV marathon to do some puzzles. Audrey's done this United States so many times she can practically do it with her eyes closed.

Just don't look too closely at Kansas and South Dakota!
