And past eight o'clock (sometimes until nine thirty!), they actually play together, nicely even. I'm going to stop bragging right now for fear of jinxing us. When we did finally roll out of bed, Maddy wanted to build a fort.
(You can see Maddy's design for the fort on the table.)
Maddy's and Bob's goals were slightly at odds with each other. Maddy wanted to string blankets all over the living room. Bob wanted to be able to watch TV over the fort.
So they come up with this compromise.
Later on in the day, we went to a birthday party at Kai's house where we took advantage of their yard and built a snow man. We also took advantage of a great deal of their German beer. Those are the kinds of kids parties I don't mind attending!
On Sunday, Maddy resumed her swim lessons so Bob took Audrey to the Children's Museum. They had a nice time, and Bob gave Audrey a great view of some Japanese drummers.
On Monday, I took the kids for haircuts. It was Audrey's first haircut with a professional. She did amazingly well. She took it VERY seriously and held her head just so for a very long time.
I think she was happy with the results.
