Two Years Old!

Happy Second Birthday Audrey! It has been quite a year! Since your last birthday, we saw you transform from a baby to a little girl right before our eyes.


Last year, you weren't walking yet. This year, you run! And you are so independent. Not only do you have an opinion about the boots you wear (butterflies!) but you can even put them on all by yourself.

You are an amazing communicator for your age, I'm always impressed at how much you seem to understand. And sometimes, you even come up with ideas on your own that are so amusing I would love to know where they came from. Like the fact that you refer to anything brown as "cowboy". I still crack up with I recall the time that you told me that my hair looked pretty...then you added, "You have cowboy hair!"

You're still a really adventurous eater. Lettuce, pickles, sushi...you'll try anything!

And speaking of trying anything, you like to get down on the floor with me and do "yoga". It's not easy for me to quiet my mind when you are doing downward facing dog next to me (and prone unpredictable leaping on my back!) but it is fun!

You are really your own person now and that is taking some getting used to. We're still in the habit of dragging you around to Maddy's events, making you watch Maddy's television shows. But you have your own opinions now. I will never again turn it from Daniel Tiger so Maddy can watch WordGirl. Lesson learned!

You have your own weekly playgroup, complete with your own teachers and art projects. And your own friends. It's so interesting to watch you create your own place in our family.


You have such a mischievous spirit, and your not above creating a little drama now and then, but you bring so much joy to our lives!

Happy Birthday Audrey! We can't wait to see what the next year brings.
