Apple Picking

We made our annual apple picking trip with the Finley's today. We had a great day!

This year, to accommodate Maddy's swim lessons drove up to the farm after lunch. As it turned out, it was a really nice time of day to be hanging out on a farm. It wasn't too crowded, and the light was beautiful. Maddy couldn't wait to start picking!

Audrey got into the spirit pretty quickly, doing equal parts picking and eating.

After we picked our apples (pie to be baked tomorrow!) we went back down to catch the hayride. Somehow, Bob got suckered into pulling all the kids around in the wagon to entertain them while we waited.

Hayride!

Back down at the farm stand, Maddy and Bob made a donut run, while Audrey and Violet did their best impersonation of a sack of apples.

The best part of apple picking.....cider donuts!

Before we left, Audrey had to make sure that the chickens knew how to do the chicken dance.

And Maddy needed a ride on the horse.

Apple picking has become my favorite fall tradition...it was such a great day!
