The lake was beautiful, and a great place for Maddy to float around and play in the sand.
She also liked to just sit on the steps and watch the fish swim by.
More than anything, I think we all enjoyed the open space and the grass. Maddy LOVED to run down the hills and even after taking a tumble in the wet grass, and then a tumble in the dirt, Maddy still looked pretty happy.
Both nights, Bob built a fire in the cabin at bedtime for us to watch. It actually got pretty cold at night, so we were grateful for the heat.
Both days, we had breakfast in the lodge and this is the face of a girl who got to eat chocolate chip pancakes two mornings in a row.
It was hard to leave on Sunday morning, but a little Pirate's Booty (eaten out of a frisbee....very classy!) made the ride home a little more tolerable.
We had a great time. Hopefully, we'll make it back next year.
