Acquire, Day 17

Maddy had a great day today. It feels like some things are really starting to click for her. After slightly burning her pancake in the toaster (and then rendering it "dirty" and unworthy of eating) we had to resort to plan B for breakfast. I gave her some "Oh's" was shocked at how much easier it was for her than it had been on Day 9.

Maddy's been working on light switches since day one here (though I NEVER thought it would be possible) and yet here she is turning a light on....

...and off.

She tried picking up a handful of beans today for the first time and had great success throwing them into the bin. Throwing is really hard since it involves a fast movement and good timing but she really seems to be getting it.

And picking up coins off the floor is becoming easier and you can hear how proud Maddy is to do it "by herself!"

Tomorrow the cast comes off and Maddy starts working on integrating her right hand into her life. She's ignored it for so long, this is going to be a challenge!

Good luck with using both hands together, Maddy! You are awesome.
