We took a short trip to Washington DC to meet up with Carl, Brooke and Ellie.
We decided to make a pit stop on the way down and explore Philadelphia a little. After the BEST burrito bowls (calling them that doesn't actually do them justice...) we went to the Barnes Foundation. It was a very unique art museum which reminded me a lot of the Gardner Museum in Boston. They had a very impressive collection of art, every wall was jam packed!
After we wore ourselves out looking at art, we drove on to Silver Springs VA for one night before meeting the others. We dined at the memorable "Noodle King"
Monday morning we got up and met Carl, Brooke and Ellie at the National Zoo.
And then onto the "other" Air and Space Museum, the one out by Dulles Airport and it was definitely worth the drive!
The best part about the "other" Air and Space Museum? They have a Shake Shack IN THE MUSUEM!
Tuesday morning we got up early and checked out the rooftop pool at our fancy hotel.
RGB pointillist art, made with tampons. Amazing.
Then on to the Museum of African American History and Culture which was a heavy experience, but I'm glad we went.
We spent much more time at the African American Museum than we thought we would so afterwards rather than trying to go to another Smithsonian, we took a walk around to see the monuments.
On Wednesday we had tickets to the other Air and Space Museum. It was under construction and kind of a crowded mess so we didn't stay too long.
Then we went to the National Gallery of Art because he heard a rumor that they had the best cafeteria (which was fake news....) played around in the lobby making some art....
