Quick Trip to KY

I went home for a long weekend to help mom out while she was in France with her sisters. The plan had been for me to be around to cook for dad, but unfortunately he broke his ankle right before mom left so I ended up just visiting him in rehab during the evenings. Staying at the house, all alone was a very strange experience! For some silly reason I feel much more comfortable in a city with other houses stacked on top of me rather than being surrounded by woods!

While it wasn't the trip I imagined, it was still nice to get home and celebrate dad's birthday with him with some German Chocolate cupcakes.

And I got to see Rachel. After a rough start due to poor planning and a cell phone battery dying, we eventually made it out to Bernheim Forest to see the Forest Giants.

And with all my free time I took a walk and gave Audrey a tour of all the notable tombstones in the cemetary. She was just as impressed as you would imagine.

Mom came home the day before I had to leave so I had some French gifts (including berets from Aunt Patti) to bring home to the girls.

A strange weekend, but I'm glad I went home.
