New York City!

A few months ago, Bob saw a deal on Acela tickets and we used it as an excuse to spend a weekend in New York City! The train ride was so relaxing (even in masks!)

We got there in the early evening, checked into our hotel room then took a taxi to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.

Then we walked around the area around the 9/11 Memorial and Oculus...my first Calatrava building.

On Saturday, we made our way towards the Whitney Museum, through Madison Square Park. Bob found some sunglasses and created his own installation in Maya Lin's, Ghost Forest.

The Whitney Museum was really cool.

Especially the views from outside.

In the afternoon we had plans to meet the Illes and walk the High Line, but the weather forced us to take a couple laps around the mall.

Next time, Vessel. No time for you this visit!

We finally gave up, sucked it up and took the walk anyway.

From the High Line we went to Little Island.

We finished the night with dinner, ice cream and walk around Washington Square Park (which was VERY lively!)

On Sunday we'd promised the kids a trip to the new Harry Potter Flagship store which was near our hotel. We arrived right at 11 when the store opened, unaware that we should have come hours earlier to get into the virtual queue. Hopes were nearly dashed, but then a Good Samaritan offered us some entry tickets that she didn't need anymore....and all was right with the world! New "friends" were procured!

It was such a great trip!
