During this February school vacation week it was hard not to think about what we were doing this time last year in Florida...completely oblivious to what was about to happen.
BUT, a quiet February vacation can be nice too. On Saturday we went to the bike store to get Audrey's birthday present. Bob and I are officially jealous of her awesome bike! (Maddy got a new phone which was equally exciting to her!)
Then, we went to meet our new neice/ cousin Kathryn standing outside. She's so sweet. And hopefully I'll get to actually hold her soon. (Damn you, COVID!)
Sunday was Audrey's birthday so she and Bob took her new bike out for a snowy ride...
On Monday, she hosted a virtual birthday party where she played some online games with her friends. The good part about a virtual party (aside from not having to clean the house) is that kids could participate from wherever....Audrey's friend Ella was actually in Arizona!
After birthday season came to a close, the week was pretty quiet. We spent a lot of time scanning stuff because the scanner makes bird noises and it entertains the cats.
Unlike February vacations part, the weather felt VERY seasonal. Lots of snow and gloom, so the kids went sledding a few times.
On Saturday night, we drove into Boston to see the music and light show at the Hatch Shell on the Esplande, and took a walk around the Public Garden.
It was a quiet week, but it actually flew by faster than I thought. And with February vacation over, I feel like we can start looking forward to spring and the end to this dark winter.
