Our town finally decided to hold an abbrivated in-town soccer season, actually starting when we'd normally be wrapping up. But I'll take it! Any chance to see kids in person and get some exercise is an oppurtunity I can't pass up. Last week was rained out, so this Saturday was the first time it was held. The theme this year is: DON"T TOUCH ME!
After soccer we rode down to Kenny and Tricia's to decorate some cupcakes and to see Thomas's Halloween costume. (Audrey is very excited to show off her new aviator shades.)
Cupcakes! (Made by cousin Alison.)
(Maddy's included a sorting hat.)
Costumes! (Maddy was too cool to put hers on today)
And after cupcakes, we drove down to the Roger Williams Zoo for the Pumpkin Specatular, which was drive-thru this year. I was grateful to have something Halloween-y to do and while driving THROUGH the zoo was kind of a unique experience but it was over so quickly and it was hard to get a good look at the detail of the jack-o-lanterns. I did really love this Ruth Bader Ginsburg one though. (I made Bob stop the car to get a photo.)
Since the Pumpkin Spectactular was so brief, me made an impulse stop at the "Haunted Museum". Luckily they had some spots available!
It was a really well done haunted house, and JUST scary enough without being too scary.
The premise was that in this natural history museum, some of the exhibits had "come to life" so in every room, there was some life sized exhibit that unexpectedly frightened you. This one gave Maddy a "gift" of her heart, I think. Super creepy! But I think it was the caveman that gave us all the biggest fright!
It was a really fun day and a good way to get into the Halloween spirit!
