Good Luck Bear came to cheer them on. He'd worked his magic with the 8th graders the night before.
And they did it! With a little help from being placed into a Division 3 bracket, rather than the Division 2 or 1 teams that they'd played all year.
So, we raced home and had a nice afternoon at the ballet. (While Bob worked on the hallway floor. He ripped the carpet up last week and we discovered wood floor beneath)
The ballet was awesome! The Philip Glass part was all of our's favorite part!
Late Sunday afternoon, we drove up to Gordon College for Maddy's second game against Danvers. (I think Good Luck Bear knows that this isn't going to end well.)
It was an awesome game, and the girls kept it really close, but they lost.
They would have had another chance (they were supposed to play the team they beat on Saturday and then would have had another shot at Danvers), as this is a double elemination tournament. If it weren't for a little thing called Coronavirus, which pretty much cancelled everything in our lives a week after this. With a month of hindsight, the idea of sitting shoulder to shoulder with tons of other parents on the bleachers just seems so bizarre now. So much has changed.
