Back to School, Soccer, Dance, Band....

We're TRYING to get back into the swing of things, but having to deal with school AND all the other extracurricular activities makes me realize how busy the kids are!

Plus, I've been sucked into being on the PTO board at Audrey's school which means I had to rope Bob into working the grill at the Back-to-School BBQ. Clearly, he took his job very seriously!

On Saturday, Audrey made her travel soccer team debut. They lost, but she had a great time and she did awesome. She's super happy to have retired from playing in the Instructional League where all the boys are "ball hogs who never pass".

Somehow, the kids think that playing mini-golf is a "back-to-school" tradition. I don't know how that happened, but Bob will never say no to playing mini golf.

(For purposes of our family history I am obligated to report that I had the mini-golf game of my life. As Bob became frustrated and melted down, a zen-like calm came over me, propelling me to sweet victory.)

Then, we got a bucket of balls for the driving range. I won't say we were a "menace" exactly, but we were definitely the most erratic people on the range.

The first Monday of the school year means "Back-to-Dance" for Audrey. She really loves getting back together with all her dance friends. This year, she's mixing it up a bit. No more ballet (I'm sad, but I get it) and she's taking Tap, Jazz and Hip-Hop.

And Maddy got "Back-to-Band". This year she decided to audition for Select Band again, and she made it this time! We're so proud of her. She celebrated with an ice cream sundae!

And...some miscellaneous cat photos. Just because!

The routine loving part of me is glad to have a routine again, but I still miss summer!
