Egypt Day

Apparently, the "highlights" of sixth grade are the two special days dedicated to Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. Maddy had been looking forward to this ALL YEAR. I was less enthusiastic as it meant a big project and a costume! But we pulled it together! Maddy decided to go with making Canopic Jars for her project and she did a great job.

And once I figured out that a white maxi dress would work for both the Egyptian AND the Greek costumes, I was FAR less grumpy about it. (side note: Maddy was actually WILLING to wear a dress for a costume. What the heck!) I made her a headdress, she made the pectoral collar and I think she looks quite queenly, just like Cleopatra.

(And Audrey gets the win for the "best Egyptian photobomb".)
