Christmas

We started our Christmas celebration with some Nepali food and exchanging our gifts.

(Bob seemed a little skeptical of this one!)

Maddy was very excited to get her own computer and Audrey will likely have her mind blown when she sees The Blue Man Group in January!

Then the next day, after school we took off for Kentucky!

Even though we got a late start we made pretty good time and made it all the way to Buffalo.... (Obligatory Hampton Inn mustashe shot)

...giving Bob the brilliant idea to time our lunch stop in Cleveland to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

(I told the kids to show me their best rock star looks and Maddy showed me her butt and Audrey got on her knees and begged....I don't know what that says about their conception of Rock and Roll.)

The main draw, for Audrey anyway, was seeing David Bowie memorabilia.

The Tom Petty hat was pretty exciting to see too!

(I couldn't pass up the overpriced souvenir!)

It was a fun afternoon but the rest of the drive was a bit of a slog. But seeing this unique car kept out holiday spirits up!

When we got to Grandma's house, Levi was already there. It was hard to keep up with him this time! He was into everything!

On Sunday morning, frost covered everything....fascinating out poor, yard-less Audrey.

Early in the day on Christmas Eve I had a NCHS reunion with Noel and Lisa.

Christmas Eve calls for matching PJs!

Christmas morning came, and luckily Santa did too! Hogwarts in LEGOs!

And Audrey got the Rescue Runts she asked for.

(Grandma wore her Christmas PJs too!)

Patrick, Heather and Shelby made it to Grandma's house in time for breakfast. Too bad Grandma broke Shelby as soon as she arrived.

To be fair, Shelby wasn't quite sure about Uncle Charlie either!

And she decided that Grandfather was ok...for now.

At least Maddy could be counted on to make Shelby smile.

After we experienced the spectrum of Shelby's moods... we opened presents.

Shelby loved the blanket that Audrey made for her!

After presents, we visited with Aunt Paula.

Maddy and Bob built a Harry Potter out of LEGOs.

Levi loved playing with his Uncle Bobby! They must have done a hundred laps around the house!

Uncle Charlie and Levi.

Maddy ate her weight in prime rib, as usual.

After Christmas, we had a free day, so we went to see Patrick and to have lunch in Lexington.

We got a little more Shelby time, Audrey plays an awesome game of peek-a-boo!

We passed by Scratch on the way to some pizza.

After lunch, we went out to Heather's parent's arena to see some animals. This horse was so huge! Very impressive!

And we got to feed the new baby donkeys.

It was a beautiful day to be outside!

Back at Grandma's house, Audrey lived in terror that her "Contraptions" would be destroyed by Levi! (They mostly were...)

On Thursday, we hosted my UK friends for our annual get-together. The kids had a lot of fun decorating cookies!

It was so great to see everyone!

On our last day in Kentucky we went back to Lexington for lunch and a movie with Aunt Patti.

And then down to the Sherwood to say goodbye to Uncle Charlie.

(Maddy did some bartending...)

Then before we knew it, it was time to head home. Luckily, the drive home was uneventful except for the regular backseat shennanigans.

It was a great trip!
