Independence Day

This year (for the first time in our 14 years of living in Winthrop) we started our July 4th by going to the Horribles Parade because Maddy was making her marching band debut with the Middle School Band.



(Bob made his LimeBike debut too! 😉 And Audrey achieved her goal of cycling in the parade with her own biker gang.)



Maddy only had about three weeks to learn the marching song but she did an awesome job!









The parade ended in Coughlin Park with feats of athletic skill. Sadly, Audrey did not win the sack race, but I'm proud to say that I'm married to the third-place finisher in the over-40 footrace.



After we rested up and cooled off the went over the Aresty's for a pre-fireworks cookout...



...then onto the fireworks.
