Winter Weekends

It's always feels nice to have some downtime after the craziness of the holidays in January but this year we've been a little preoccupied with basketball. Audrey has a skills clinic every Saturday and Maddy has games pretty much every weekend, sometimes even both days!

The 5th grade girls got off to a slow start to their basketball season but last weekend they got their first win again Hamilton-Wenham.

And even better, Maddy scored her first field goal! It was so great to see all her hard work pay off. And the reaction from the Winthrop crowd was very touching as well.

Afterwards, we had a celebratory treat!

Meanwhile, in our downtime Audrey has already began the preparations for the "Adopt-a-Puppy" birthday party she talked me into having for her. It's three weeks away, but the "doghouse" has been constructed!

This past weekend, we had lots more basketball. On Saturday Maddy's team won again at home against Saugus! Cheered on by some rather bored, Skittle-loving spectators. (Audrey's friend Allen is the unicorn. 😊)

Sunday, we traveled to Marblehead and the 5th grade girls made it THREE wins in a row! I'm so impressed by how well they work together as a team, and how much hustle they have! I've never seen Maddy so happy as when she's playing with this great group of girls!

Afterward we had a nice lunch with a nice view. Bob and I channelled our younger selves by picking this place.... the idiots that could manage to find the most overpriced restaurant within a 10 mile radius! 😉

But it was worth it for the Baked Alaska. Or rather, it was worth it to make Maddy try the Baked Alaska!
