Snowstorm Number One

One of the convenient things about living in the modern age is that when you are about to get slammed with a snowstorm, you get plenty of notice. This allows you to prepare and get all the essentials before becoming snowbound. So that's what we did on Wednesday, we went to the library and loaded up on books and movies!

(And we also said goodbye to poor (paper mache) Delores who probably won't survive her new habitat outside of the library.)

On Wednesday night, no one was happier than Maddy who had TWO days of school already called off and she realized that the season premiere of The X-files was coming on tonight. Perfect timing!

On Thursday morning, the snow had started so it was time to craft!

After lunch we went out to shovel a little. But the wind and the blowing snow sent us inside pretty quickly....

...but not before snow angels could be made!

On Friday, the snow was over and the sun was out but it was so cold. The high temperature was around 15 degrees!

We took a walk around the block and Maddy coined a new term. That thing she's sitting on is called a "snow hedge". That seems about right!

We did not last long outside! Can't wait for the warm up that's supposed to be here next week!
