Maine

After our busy day of bakes sales and wreath-hanging we got in the car and drove up to Portland, Maine so that we could attend Bob's cousin Kelly's "Thankmas" gathering on Sunday. We are always up for a night in a hotel (swimming pool!) and dinner in a different city.

Before letting the kids swim, we dragged them around Portland for a while for some Christmas shopping and some pizza. Maddy enjoyed the Rose´.

Audrey did too, though she usually prefers a Merlot.

Sunday morning we left Portland and drove out in the country to Kelly's beautiful old farmhouse. She really outdid herself....even with twenty-six guests, she had a seat (with name cards and ornament napkin rings!) for everyone. Everything looked so beautiful!

The kids were excited to bust out their Christmas sweaters for the first time of the season. Maddy learned not to take the calling of her sweater "ugly" personally.

The kids had a ball playing basketball and hanging out with their cousins, especially Meghan.

The food was delicious, and the conversation was sparkling!

It was a great day, so nice to see that side of the family in such a beautiful place!
