Baby Shower Weekend

This weekend, I flew down to Kentucky to celebrate with Aunt Katie with a couple of baby showers. But that meant that Bob had to hold down the fort at home. Friday night, they made their own pizza. Impressive!

And then they watched something safely on the couch.

On Saturday, Bob had the kids "help" him out building his "Atlas" at Canstructure. It turned out amazingly well (Later in the week it was awarded awards for "Structural Ingenuity" and for "Most Cans")

After their exhausting day, they cheated on me by going to my favorite place without me!

Meanwhile Saturday was Baby Shower #1 for Katie, and Mary Kate.

Aunt Patti was put on the spot to make a toast to the two mothers-to-be...I don't remember what she said, but there was a lot of laughter.

Katie had consented to having a "gender reveal" cake at both her showers. Apparently Aunt Janie neglected to take into account that yellow cake and BLUE (I'm having a nephew!) make green, not blue.

Mary Kate's "gender reveal" cake was a little more ambiguous!

The Fields are always fun. But driving home from Lexington was pretty hilarious as well, as I received the Best Text Ever from Audrey.

(Apparently, a vacuum is necessary in Bob's method for pony-tail making.)

Sunday morning, Mom and I hosted the Johnson side for Baby Shower #2. Aside from a little mini-quiche drama it was a lovely brunch. And this adorable gender reveal cake actually turned out blue inside (thanks to Heather for getting this beautiful cake!)

It was a great weekend. We can't wait for the new little guy to get here!
