Last Week of Summer Vacation

After vacation, we had one more week of summer before the kids had to return to school.

Maddy had her last softball game of the season. Sadly, they did not win the game that would have allowed them to participate in the playoffs this year but Maddy had a great year. We'll miss Leah and the other coaches and all her friends!

Elmo took a few extra days vacation on the houseboat so there was great excitement when he returned with Grandma when she flew up for a quick visit. He was toasted with our last can of Houseboat YooHoo!

On Thursday, we thought we'd treat Grandma to one last beach day of the year.

It was cold and windy but we pushed on....for like, 45 minutes!

On the Friday of Labor Day weekend, Maddy and Grandma finally got to cash in on their birthday gift from MONTHS ago! We drove out to Tanglewood to see The Avett Brothers! Three generations of Avett Brothers Fans!

The setting for Tanglewood is so beautiful, it's almost worth the drive just to see the views of the Berkshires.

The Avett Brothers were awesome! We all had a ball, Maddy danced her butt off!

Grandma had to head to the airport early Sunday (so she could get ready to head back up here in less than a week...she's had a complicated travel schedule lately!) but lucky for us, we had some "Fake Grandmas" to distract us. My aunts Patti, Pam and Janie were visiting Boston so they met us for brunch. Afterwards we showed them (minus Aunt Janie) around the MFA.

This art critic said, "I think this painting is called: Ahhh! I'm being eaten by a shark!"

On Labor Day, aka the LAST day of summer vacation we decided to give the beach on last chance with Audrey's friend Hazel, and it was awesome! A perfect beach day.

It was so hard to leave! I'm not ready for summer to end.
