Russell Pond

This weekend, we went camping in the White Mountains with the Smith-Felners. The kids were only slightly excited. (They had literally been playing "camping" all week!

Thanks to an early getaway, we made it to Russell Pond by sunset on Friday evening. The pond looked so beautiful in the twilight.

We could not have asked for a better weekend for camping. The weather was perfect (not a drop of rain until we were already loaded up and heading for home) and there was a hammock!

The pond was the perfect temperature for swimming.

And Andy brought his canoe and did a couple laps with the kids.

The kids had so much fun with their friends!

And of course, S'mores were eaten. Andy even attempted a very unorthodox "Brownie S'more". (Audrey's a little distressed by having over roasted her marshmallow.)

If I had to complain about one thing, I have to say I don't really enjoy the sleeping-in-a-tent-on-the-hard-slopey-ground part of camping. But that's a small price to pay for all the fun we had.

It was a great weekend!
