On Friday, we took him out to Piers Park to see Maddy complete her week of sailing. Her last day was a hot one, but beautiful. That's her in boat seven, she had a great week and learned so much!
Friday was also the start of a heat wave here, so after Maddy's softball game was cancelled due to heat we jumped at the chance to head to the movies and sit in the air conditioning for a few hours. We were all so excited to see the new Ghostbusters movie!
Afterwards we hung out in Downtown Crossing and saw some public art.
Mostly we were just killing time so we could take the ferry home and it was worth the wait! The ride was timed perfectly.
We saw a sunset.
And a moonrise. So beautiful!
Saturday was the Opening Ceremonies for the East Boston Girls Softball League. This year, both kids are playing.
For comedic relief, Audrey's team, the Thunder played a scrimmage while all the team photos were being taken. She got a hit on the first pitch!
(Rounding third with her giant batting helmet.)
After the scrimmage, the local dignitaries threw out the ceremonial first pitches. Later that day, Maddy's team had their second game of the season and they defeated the Jaguars 7-1! Go Gators!
On Sunday, we didn't have too much to do (aside from buying Audrey an appropriately sized batting helmet) so we went to the beach for a little while.
Maddy tried out her new softball shades. (Until a heavy fog rolled in and rendered them unnecessary!)
It was a great weekend!
