The Kid's Get a Bonus Hotel Stay

With Grandma's Fields' health taking such a sudden turn for the worse, Mom and Dad had to cut their visit to Boston short last week. This meant that Bob and I had to figure out a Plan B for going to (Bob's cousin) Angela's wedding last weekend. We decided that we'd take the girls to the wedding ceremony in the afternoon, then Bob would go to the reception alone while I stayed with the kids at the hotel. Of course, when the kids heard the word "hotel" and they nearly levitated with excitement.

First was the boring old ceremony where the hotel swimming pool was used liberally as a form of bribery.

Then we had a lovely lunch at the charmingly named "Beef Barn" where the grilled cheeses and chicken tenders were surprisingly tasty.

Then FINALLY the kids got what they came for: a swim in the pool. Good thing we brought a single kickboard so they could have something to fight about!

After the were all swum out, we went back to the room where the kids made a disovery of the coolest thing ever. ROOM SERVICE. Not just room service, but room service where ice cream is included in your kid's meal. And The Princess Bride was on TV. That was pretty much the best night ever as far as these two were concerned.

And it looks like Bob had a fun time too.
