MFA

This weekend we had free passes to the MFA and nothing else to do so we took a train ride into Boston. We wanted to just drive and park at the museum but the kids wouldn't hear of it! The train ride is half the fun!

We stopped at a burrito place for lunch first so that Audrey could eat her weight in guacamole.

And then onto the museum! It was a beautiful sunny day but it was also ninety degrees so air conditioning was have the reason for going today!

After borrowing some art supplies for the kids we hit the Jamie Wyeth exhibition first. Audrey was really interested in drawing, and I think she did a great job of capturing the likeness of Andy Warhol. (Check out the big glasses and crazy hair!)

While Audrey liked Wyeth's portraits and sea gulls, Maddy preferred his paintings of coastal houses.

After that exhibit, we started a scavenger hunt though the section of Asian art. (The MFA is so great at having activities that engage kids!) Even throughout the hunt, Audrey liked to stop and draw. I couldn't be more proud of her ability to enjoy (and let me enjoy!) an art museum!

We had such a great time. And the kids totally scored some gelato and brownies for their awesome behavior!
