The kids had some of their favorite buddies to play with in Amaia...

...and Kai.

Maddy even went swimming in the pond, which is fed by a mountain spring, so it was a little brisk for my taste!

Audrey preferred to stay pond-side.

Though, back at the campsite, I'm afraid we created a fire-bug. Audrey was very taken with the campfire.

And she spent hours catching sticks on fire. When not catching sticks on fire, her other favorite pastime was taking "hikes". Otherwise known as trips to the bathroom. I guess there was something fascinating to her about living a third of a mile away from a bathroom. Fascinating to her, exhausting for me!

On Saturday night, Andy took Bob and the kids on a canoe ride on the pond. The water was like glass.

The weather wasn't terrible, but it did rain a lot both nights. And poor Audrey woke up in a puddle on Sunday morning. That morning we also got a 5AM wake-up call from the Barred Owl. Thank goodness for iPhones, because Bob was able to figure out that it was an owl we were hearing and not a people-eating-New-Hampshire-Wildcat.
On Sunday morning, too tired and wet too cook, we made do with Cheerios and leftover dinner from the night before before taking off for home.

It was a fun weekend though I also have a renewed appreciation for my soft, dry bed and my conveniently located bathroom!
