Independence Day Weekend

We had a jam-packed holiday weekend! On the actual 4th of July, we had to contend with a lot of rain first and then Hurricane Arthur. But we persevered! We are nothing if not always prepared for a little coastal flooding.



On Saturday, as if to make up for the terrible weather on the 4th, we had a gorgeous day. Perfect for us to attend a pool party at "Camp Barry" with the Cahoon's.





I think it was pretty much a perfect day as far as the kids were concerned...swim a little, eat a few chips, more swimming, more chips...



And Maddy enjoying hanging with the big kids.



Poor Audrey didn't have enough body fat to stay warm in the chilly water for very long. Her cheerful attitude never wavered though!



At the end of the day we helped Keyne celebrate her 40th birthday with an amazing Minion cake that Keeley made.



On Sunday, I got the day off to go meet some college friends that were in town for the day. Jody and Tara had their minds set on oysters. Lucky for me, they had a lobster roll on the menu. I don't think Bob has forgiven me yet.



The kids went to Taunton to see Grammy and Grandpa and ended up spending ANOTHER day in the pool. This time it was at Trica's parents house.



But everyone made it back to Winthrop in time to walk down to the landing to see the fireworks (which had been postponed due to the bad weather on the 4th.)



We all still recovering but it was a great weekend!
