On Saturday, we got Maddy signed up for T-ball (hence the ever-present Marlins hat in our photos this weekend!). Then we played a little catch and helped Maddy figure out how to field the ball the best way she could. Turns out, she's pretty great at catching and throwing with the same hand!
Before dinner we took a nice walk at the Belle Isle Marsh. I love going there in the late afternoon...the light is so warm and beautiful.
After our walk, we had a nice dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, which was great, until it wasn't. And we'll probably be banned from there, for at least a month. Oh well. Bob knows not to mess with Elmo anymore, especially when there is glass wear within arm's reach. Lesson learned.
Sunday, after Maddy's swim lesson and a picnic at her future college (MIT), we drove out to Drumlin Farm. On the way there, Audrey decided to play "astronaut" and go to the moon inside her sweatshirt. No one can accuse her of lacking imagination!
When we got to the Drumlin Farm, we found that they were having their "Dairy Days" which featured the most patient cow ever, who stood still and let dozens of kids milk her. Both kids stepped right up to do it.
But Audrey was especially enthusiastic about it. When she heard there was cow-milking to be done she made a beeline to the red barn!
There were lots of other activities to do at the farm, including arts and crafts, so the kids got to make a bookmark, a wooly sheep and a cow puppet.
Maddy says, "Moo!"
