Pear Preserves

Audrey was the beta tester for my first attempt at Grandmother Johnson's pear preserves. I think the recipe is close (just 1 part sugar to 2 parts pears, simmered) but I must have cooked them too long because they came out the consistency of tar. Oh well. Next time I'll know to make sure they go into the canning jar when they are still a little runny.


At least my tester was willing to cut me a little slack.
