Apple Picking

We made our traditional annual trip up to Cider Hill Farm this weekend. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to go apple picking.

We started out with a hay ride to the top of the hill.

Then Maddy searched until she found a good row to pick from.

"We'll pick here!" says farmer Audrey.

She just needed a little boost.

Sampling is required, to make sure we've picked the right variety.

And as far as Maddy is concerned, an apple must pass the "lick test". This apple passed with flying colors.

I hate to brag, but I actually made the "pick of the day". This apple is just begging to sit on a teacher's desk, I think.

At the end of the day, the Finely's joined us, so we picked with them for a while from the orchards on the other side of the farm. More sampling was done. I think both kids totaled about four apples each!

Aside from missing out on the cider donuts because of the long lines (and the resulting meltdowns) it was a great day!
