Weekend

For our third weekend in Birmingham, Grandfather came down for a visit. We took him down to visit the ducks and turtles and fish.


With all the wildlife watching we're doing, the kids must think that Alabama is Wild Kingdom!


On Saturday Grandma and Grandfather took the kids to the Birmingham Zoo (leaving me blissfully zoo-less for a few hours!)


They had a great time, and even got to feed some elephants.


In the afternoon, Grandfather and I took Audrey to the pool so she could show me all her new swimming skills. She likes to jump in the pool over and over again and doesn't even mind her head going underwater. She's definitely ready for the houseboat!


And Grandfather cooked some steaks on the deck...with lots of "help".


On Sunday I took Maddy to the movies in the morning. In the afternoon we all went to the McWane Center again. Maddy was quick enough with her right hand to actually touch a stingray in the touch tank this time. She was thrilled with that!

We also did lots of hanging around the apartment. The kids, for lack of much to do, have decided that this recliner is the best thing ever. (It is the source of equal amounts of laughter and tears...I'm ready to throw it off the balcony!)


Back to work for Maddy tomorrow. This the the last week she has to wear the cast full-time.
