It's not ALL work...

Even though Maddy is working super hard here in Birmingham, her therapy is over before 2 o'clock every day, so we still have lots of time for fun. (Also, if anyone should feel sorry that Audrey's summer isn't fun enough, she's been spending every morning in the pool with Grandma.)

On Friday afternoon we went to the mall and took a ride on the train.

Our apartment is right on a lake so we've had a lot of fun watching the ducks and the turtles and feeding the fish.

Most afternoons we make it to the nearby Veteran's Park.

On Sunday we went back the the McWane Center. First order of business was to put Grandma in the Hurricane Booth and mess up her hair.

And then back downstairs to the touch tank and the aquariums. Audrey took on this fish in a staring contest. She gave him a good run for his money, but he eventually prevailed.

Maddy and Grandma made impressions of their faces (and narrowly avoided the bubonic plague...who knows how many faces slobbered on this exhibit!)

And on Tuesday evening we drove out to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens to walk around.

We miss Bob and feel a little homesick from time to time, but we're still having a nice time. And Maddy's working so hard. So proud of her!
