It's been a really good month, though not too exciting. The good news is, I think we've found our groove around here. We've successfully gotten out of the house lots of times and even been on time occasionally. We even made it out to a restaurant for dinner for the first time as a foursome. I think we're finally finding our new "normal". You seem pretty happy with us.
The biggest development is that you enjoy being on your play mat now. You like to swat at the toys above your head and you've started putting things in your mouth. This is bad news for Maddy "choking hazard" Carroll. She's going to have to start keeping her toys well out of your reach!
You're pretty happy in the car now and in the stroller, which wasn't always the case. Sometimes you and Maddy fight over who gets to ride in the stroller. I guess that's just the first of many fights you guys will have. I think by this time in my career as a big sister, I'd already ran uncle Charlie in to brick wall a time or two, so your disagreements still seem pretty tame.
While you tolerate the stroller sometimes, you do have a preferred mode of transport. You love to hang out in the Moby Wrap. It's still pretty much the only way that you will take a nap during the day but more and more you just like to hang out and enjoy the view. I love to look down and see your big eyes taking in the world. Supposedly it can hold kids up to 35 pounds, yet somehow your big sister isn't interested in trying it out. In fact, suggesting it is the quickest way to get her to leave the room!
It's been a lifesaver for these twelve weeks in the spica cast. Even your dad took the six hour training course required to learn how to put it on so he could keep you happy when I'm not around.
Speaking of, you really need to start being nicer to your dad. I know you like hanging out close to your meal ticket, but you should really give him a chance. He can be pretty fun, just ask Maddy. This weekend, she snookered him into camping in the living room again!
It's been a great month, Audrey! We can't wait to see what next month brings!
