Introducing Our Newest Effort, Audrey Lynn

This year, our Valentine's Day was extra special as we welcomed our baby girl Audrey Lynn into the world. She was born at 3:36 PM, weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces, 18 inches long.

Right away, we were amazed at how much Audrey looks like her big sister.

The next day the meeting we'd been so nervous about finally occurred. And Maddy definitely met her new sister with a healthy amount of skepticism.

But Grandma helped convince her that Audrey would be a good addition to our family.

This time, our stay in the hospital was a lot more relaxed, being our second time (and without my having a spinal headache!) So we had lots of time to hang out...

...comparing Audrey's size to pieces of fruit and other objects.

Unfortunately, when the pediatrician checked her out before we could be discharged, he discovered that Audrey has hip dysplasia. So after a few hours of waiting, an ultrasound and a consultation with an orthopedic surgeon, Audrey was fitted with a harness to help her hips develop properly and we were finally able to go home. In this photo, Audrey is actually objecting to the car seat, not the harness.

We finally got home Wednesday evening (thank goodness Grandma is here to feed us!), and we started trying to get back into a routine. Maddy is taking her job as big sister very seriously. She loves helping me out and holding her baby sister.

Welcome to the family Audrey Lynn. We're so glad to finally meet you!
