Acquire, Day 8

Maddy did all her regular stuff today. She always warms up with some weight bearing with The Wiggles but now she does it one-handed (cue the Rocky theme song.)


And she worked on picking up lots of things.



Today was the day for her weekly cast change where they check her skin and more importantly she gets a full bath where I finally got to wash her nasty hair. I was not sorry to lose the street urchin look she's been sporting lately.

I'm always a little sad to see her hand return to a fist when her cast comes off, and she did so again today but it wasn't as tight as it was before we started. Happily, her thumb wasn't clenched inside her fist. Reggi decided to do a few minutes of two-handed activities to see how she would do and it actually went pretty well. She was able to get Maddy to carry toys around in each hand.


And she was still willing to play with her favorite "gear toy" with minimal restraining of her left hand.



There will be two or three "two-handed" days at the end of our time here, but for now, the cast is back on.
