Rained Out

For over a month, we'd been planning on going camping this weekend so we weren't about to change our plans just because a little old tropical storm was bearing down on us. Friday afternoon, we loaded the car and headed for the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Unfortunately, no sooner did we lay down to sleep for the night did the rain start.

Waking up Saturday morning, Maddy says, "What's that pitter-patter sound? And why are there puddles in the tent?"

We decided to make the best of it and have breakfast before we packed up to go home. Maddy watched her Eagle Scout dad build a fire in the rain, with a little help from some cooking spray.

I don't think Maddy thought camping in the rain was that bad at all. She had her buddy Stella to play with in the mud. And a functional yet stylish poncho to help stay dry.

Her spirits weren't dampened at all!

Hopefully we can try again before the weather gets too cold.

Was Bob really an Eagle Scout? Love the pictures of Maddy and Stella!

We were camping this same weekend too and the weather was miserable for us as well. Like Maddy, Bennett didn't seem to mind the rain. We're going to try again this weekend - the forecast is looking better.

Great pictures!
