Maddy officially turned two-and-a-half on Saturday and we celebrated by heading up to Crane's Beach with Grandma and Grandfather Johnson. We did lots of playing in the waves and sand castle building....

....and finding treasures in the tidal pools.

I don't want to jinx anything, but Maddy's "twos" haven't been terrible at all. She's happy so much of the time and it's great that she's getting better and better at communicating. This is important is since her needs can be pretty specific. Like the need to always wear (mis-matched) socks to bed even if it's ninety degrees. And the yellow sock must go on the left foot, the red one on the right foot.
Aside from some quirky habits (and a very limited food palette), Maddy is very easy-going.
But, more than anything, we're so grateful at how well she's doing. Last summer we were excited that she could crawl at the beach...

...this summer she can run!
Happy Half-Birthday Maddy!

Happy Half-Birthday Maddy!!! I'm glad to hear that the twos are going so well. Bennett is pretty good but certainly has some moments!
It's funny how kids develop their quirks - just like adults I guess. Bennett likes to point out each picture on our bedroom wall before he goes to bed.
that last photo is so beautiful. that's a framer, as a friend of mine says :-)
