Going to 'Tucky

Maddy and I took a trip to Kentucky last weekend and we had a jam-packed weekend full of visits with family and a ride on a certain Very Useful Engine.

While, I can't exactly say that traveling (solo) with a two-year old on an airplane was fun, it did have it's moments. Here is a photo of Maddy in the moments after realizing that on a plane, wind comes OUT OF THE CEILING! I'm sure the other travelers appreciated the shrieks of joy as much as I did.

Once we got to Grandma and Grandfather's house, Bailey and Maddy became fast friends again. Especially once Maddy discovered that he would gladly eat her leftover Cheerios.

On Friday we took a trip to the Louisville Zoo. The animals were interesting, but not as interesting as the big globe fountain!

At the petting zoo, Maddy made sure that every single goat got a pat from her.

On Saturday, we went to a graduation party for cousins Max and Patrick. Maddy had a chance to hang out with Aunt Katie and read some books.

Sunday was the main event, a ride on Thomas the Tank Engine with some buddies.

Grandma says goodbye before we took off on our long journey....two miles down the track!

After our big trip, Maddy got to check out the 152 Steam Engine, she even got to ring the bell.

After hanging out at the Kentucky Railway Museum all morning (and a nap!), we got to visit Great-Grandfather....

...and Great Grandmother Johnson...

....and Uncle Charlie and Aunt Angie....

....and Uncle Patrick.

Maddy says, "Bye bye 'Tucky, can't wait to come visit again!"

Hah! Your family resemblances are so strong. I see both you and Bob in Maddy, but look how much she looks like Patrick too!

Beautiful pictures - it looks like you had a great time! I admire your bravery for the plane trip. I'm terrified of the very idea of bringing Bennett on a plane!
