Two Years Old!

Happy Second Birthday Maddy!


I can't even believe you are already two years old. You've made such amazing progress this year. This time last year, it was hard for you to sit up on your own. Now, you walk! (I see this view of you, VERY often!)


And you run! When your dad says, "I'm going to get you!", you run....toward him. You haven't figured out the whole 'chasing' thing yet. We'll work on that next year.

You are even more excited about your walking than we are. You've decided that shopping carts and strollers are for babies.


And we found out at Christmas time that you make a pretty good traveler too. You can make yourself at home at fine hotels anywhere from here to Kentucky. However, on the next trip we're going to have to do a better job of keeping you out of the hotel mini bar.


You love to be helpful. Whenever you hear the washing machine turn on, you drop whatever you're doing and race to help. But by far, your number one favorite thing to do is to read books. And now that you can actually say the word "book" we never get a break!


I shouldn't even say this because I don't want to jinx us, but you are a total joy to be around. You're always smiling and curious, (except when you're sick, in which case all bets are off.) Your dad and I love to watch you explore your world.
