Snowy Day

The Snowy Day is one of Maddy's favorite books so we were very excited to have our own snowy day today.

First, she bundled up in her new snow pants.


Then we went out to survey how much snow we'd gotten. It was about six inches....much less than the ten inches that had been predicted.


Then we decided to walk to the water's edge. We were able to stay for about 45 seconds before it felt like our faces were going to freeze off.


On the way home, Maddy got to test out her snow walking skills.


And she decided to take a break and see what all this white stuff tastes like.


And finally, before heading back in to warm up, Bob tried to explain the idea of a 'snow angel'.


This didn't work so well. Besides losing a mitten, Maddy was a little perplexed as to why anyone would want to roll around in the cold snow. She's a smart one, that Maddy.
